Making pie at 1943 Pizza Bar: The Spin

DSC_2120Who doesn’t love pizza? Even the carb-free folk cave once in a while for one of these bad boys (trust me!)

My quest for the perfect pie took me to, where else, but the super awesome 1943 Pizza Bar in Greenport.

Seriously be prepared to YUM OUT.

I met with Matt Michel, the owner and proprietor, and he taught me how to make a proper pizza.

And let me tell you, this isn’t your ordinary pie. The one we made was topped with raw onion, sliced cheese, pesto and bacon (so good). The thin crust pizza is placed in the wood-burning oven and you have a fresh, delicious pie within minutes.

With menu options like mashed potato and bacon pizza or homemade ice cream sandwich, Matt is not messing around in kitchen.

It was awesome, if I do say so myself. Matt told me he eats probably three to four pies a week!

Watch the video of Matt and I below to see for yourself.

Thanks for Watching and I hope to see you back here for my next Spin!
