Waterfront Mattituck home on the market for $2.65 million

A Mediterranean style home with 100 feet of frontage on Long Island Sound that’s completely solar powered is listing in Mattituck for $2.65 million.

“You feel truly like you’re on vacation the minute that you walk into this house,” says listing agent Sheri Winter Parker of The Corcoran Group, adding that the home was built by a commercial builder for himself and his family.

“It’s so incredibly solidly built,” she says. “It’s 10-inch poured concrete.”

Built in 2002, the 9,086-square-foot home has an open concept, high ceilings, five en-suite bedrooms, four of which have waterside balconies, and 5½ bathrooms.

The electricity in the house runs completely on solar energy, but there is also a backup full-house generator, says Winter Parker. The electric bills have averaged about $3,000 a year, she says.

Other features include a gourmet kitchen with cherry cabinets, stainless steel appliances and two dishwashers. There’s a distinctive curved staircase with an intricate wrought iron railing and a double-sided gas fireplace between the living room and great room. The finished walkout basement has a wine cellar, sauna, steam shower, gym and game room.

Located on Lloyds Lane, the 0.85-acre property, which is in the Mattituck-Cutchogue School District, has a waterside heated pool and hot tub and a large, covered slate patio terrace off the kitchen/dining room.

“It’s just so peaceful,” says Winter Parker. “The sunsets are gorgeous.”

The annual property taxes are $28,275.
