Someone Who Inspired Us
The recent wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was stirring, and we’re equally inspired by their rumored honeymoon destination: the Hoanib Valley Camp in remote Namibia, which is surrounded by sand dunes, desert plains and wild giraffes and elephants. The luxurious glamp-site takes sustainability seriously, featuring Himba-carved furniture, all solar power, and decks made from recycled materials.

If you want to choose and build your own glamp-site, interior designer Kimberly Winthrop has a few tips, from how to define your space to arranging it for entertaining. “A comfortable seating area with lots of pillows encourages conversation,” Winthrop tells Architectural Digest. She also recommends adding luxe touches, such as a “chandelier in a tent, soft rugs underfoot, hand-crafted cocktails and string lights.”
