Ok, who doesn’t love a sunset? They range in all different colors and varieties and you always have time to catch them.
These are my five all-time favorite spots to watch that orange orb in the sky fade into the water, and some of them are places where you can also dine.
Shinn Estate Vineyards
Oregon Road, Mattituck
A spectacular place. David whips up a mean meal and the atmosphere can’t be beat!
Pace’s Dockside
Wickham Avenue, Mattituck
It’s located at Strong’s Water Club, so be sure to check out the poolside tiki bar while watching the sunset. You can even inquire about a sunset cruise while there.
Bonus tip: You have to try the duck wings!
Goldsmith’s Inlet
Mill Road, Peconic
One of my all time favorite beaches, but also one of my favorite sunset spots. Bring a picnic or just chill and watch. One of the most romantic spots on the Sound, in my humble opinion.
Kenny’s and McCabe’s beaches
Southold
Again a favorite beach destination, these are awe inspiring spots about a half-mile apart to watch the sunset. And you can always stroll over and grab a bite at the Elbow East.
Soundview Inn
North Road, Greenport
Awesome sunsets and dining waterside. Plus you can make accommodations for an overnight stay. So tranquil and easy. Plan on spending some time as you won’t want to leave that view.
That wraps up this edition of The Spin, see you next time, unless you see me first!
